The kitchen of the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, is considered the largest temple kitchen in the world. Every day, Mahaprasad is prepared here for thousands to millions of devotees. The food is cooked in seven clay pots stacked on top of each other on a wood stove. Traditionally, the pot on top is cooked first, a practice many consider remarkable. Despite the daily changing number of devotees, the Mahaprasad is never insufficient or unused. This centuries-old tradition is still considered a remarkable example of faith, discipline, and Indian culture.
